Dave Nelson is the Founder and CEO of PC HELP, a trusted technology advisory and managed IT services firm serving organizations throughout Northeast Indiana. For more than 36 years, Dave has helped businesses navigate technology change with a rare combination of engineering rigor, strategic insight, and deeply relational client service.
Dave earned his Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Engineering from Purdue University, where he developed the analytical mindset that would shape his career. He began professionally at Magnavox Electronic Systems, gaining early experience in sophisticated technical environments before moving into consulting roles serving commercial and Department of Defense clients in transportation, distribution, and systems optimization.
In 1990, Dave founded PC HELP during the early days of the personal computer revolution. What began as a computer support business grew alongside the rapid evolution of modern technology. Over the decades, Dave successfully guided clients through major industry shifts including PC networking, the rise of the internet, Y2K, e-commerce, cybersecurity, cloud computing, remote management, and now artificial intelligence.
This long view has given Dave a unique perspective: technology constantly changes, but the human challenges surrounding technology remain remarkably consistent.
Throughout his career, Dave has believed that clients rarely need “just technical support.” More often, they need clarity, trust, and wise guidance. Technology problems can create anxiety, uncertainty, and operational risk. Dave’s approach has always emphasized not just solving technical issues, but helping clients feel understood and confident while navigating complexity.
That relational philosophy became central to PC HELP’s culture.
Dave often says his heart is to serve clients as friends. He values honesty, fairness, authenticity, and emotional intelligence, believing that trust is earned not only through technical competence but through genuine care. This client-centered approach has enabled PC HELP to build long-term relationships across industries including professional services, manufacturing, finance, legal, and nonprofit organizations.
Under Dave’s leadership, PC HELP has evolved beyond traditional managed services into a strategic advisory firm focused on cybersecurity governance, compliance readiness, business continuity, and executive technology planning. Increasingly, Dave is helping leadership teams think beyond IT support toward broader questions of risk management, AI adoption, and strategic technology alignment.
Today, Dave is especially energized by the emergence of artificial intelligence. Rather than viewing AI simply as another technology trend, he sees it as a transformational force requiring thoughtful governance, ethical implementation, and human wisdom. This vision is helping shape the next chapter of his work through strategic advisory initiatives such as 2B4Kaizen, a concept centered on continuous improvement through technology, leadership, and responsible AI adoption.
Yet Dave’s definition of success has changed over time.
Earlier in his career, success often meant growth, scale, and business milestones. Today, he views success primarily through stewardship. As a husband, father, and man of faith, Dave believes life’s greatest calling is to faithfully cultivate the gifts, opportunities, and relationships entrusted to him.
One of the most meaningful areas of his life is his commitment to helping his son Julian navigate adulthood with autism. Dave is deeply interested in applying AI and assistive technologies to help Julian overcome sensory challenges, build greater independence, and uncover insights that may ultimately benefit others facing similar challenges.
When reflecting on legacy, Dave does not focus on titles, awards, or revenue. Instead, he returns to the biblical parable of the talents. His hope is simple but profound: to be remembered as someone who was faithful with what he was given.
